About Kristen
Reinvention is my résumé.
I work with leaders who have already proven what they are capable of and can feel that the next stage is asking for something different.
Sometimes that is a sharper strategy. Sometimes it is a pattern they have carried for years without seeing it. Most of the time it is both, and that is where I do my best work.

2015. The space that became my second Club Pilates studio.
My path
I stepped into each role before the path was clear.
I am a serial entrepreneur. I am hardwired for big vision and growth, and it is how I see the world. For more than 25 years, I have built businesses, grown them and developed the people who lead them.
Vision only goes as far as the numbers underneath it. Knowing the economics is the framework for growth in any business. The path is the math. When you reverse engineer a big vision into the economics behind it, it becomes a lot more manageable, and that is where I do some of my sharpest work.
I have had failures in my life, just like all of us as humans. Those have been amazing teaching moments. They taught me resilience and gave me a tenacious drive for growth.
At this stage of my life, that drive is strengthened by an inner calm. There is a knowing that comes with this stage, and it holds everything else up.
That is what I want to bring to others. So many capable people have lost the agency they deserve, often because their story has taken it away from them. My work is to facilitate the moment they take it back.

What I have learned about leaders
Four things I have seen hold true.
Leadership starts on the inside.
“Leadership truly, truly, is driven from the inside out.” The way you lead your business is shaped by the way you lead yourself.
Every friction has a story.
When something keeps getting stuck, there is usually an older story underneath it. What looks like the issue is rarely the issue, and the real work starts once we find where it is coming from.
The outcome is the barometer.
I am less interested in right and wrong than in whether what you are doing is working. “It only matters if you’re getting the outcome that you want or not. That’s your barometer.”
You are already whole.
“True coaching believes that the client is whole and they know inside of them what to do, but they have lost the agency of choice.” My job is to help you get that choice back.
How I work
Strategy and the person, in the same conversation.
I listen for what is underneath the obvious. In one session we may look at your numbers, your org chart and your calendar, and in the next we may look at the story that keeps you from using any of them. I tailor the work to where you are, at a pace you can sustain, and I keep it simple. Most of the time the next step is one small action you can take this week.
Accountability with me is high, and it is built on grace. You will not be punished for a hard week. We look at what happened, adjust, and keep moving.
“We’re so good at over-complicating things.”

Outside of work
The path ahead.
I live in Metro Detroit, and the relationships I have in my world are very important to me. I am a mom to two boys, and they make me who I am.
I live for travel and adventure, and I have built a life around it. When I can, I am outside or with horses, which have a way of reflecting back exactly the energy you bring to them.

If something is asking to change, I would like to hear about it.
I work with a small number of leaders at a time. Share where you are and what you are building, and I will personally reply within two business days.
